Eden Island

The island was created artificially during the 2000s. It belongs to the Mahe Port Islands, which are mostly artificial islands created by funds from Dubai when the Dubai dredger was placed in Seychelles.

Eden Island

Holiday Apartments on Eden Island, There is a selection of one to three bedroom Holiday Apartments situated all around Eden island in blocks not higher than two storeys. Each Apartment block is uniquely located to optimise the surrounds.

Eden Island Marina is a new dedicated super-yacht facility developed in conjunction with the Eden Island luxury residential project. Eden Island is located just off the east coast of the main island of Mahe and is linked to the mainland by a 300m bridge.

Most of the population live on Mahé, where the International Airport is located, Praslin and La Digue. Some of the smaller islands remain in private hands and a number are government owned and operated by the Island Development Company. Activities on these islands vary from luxury resorts to specialised fishing with some remaining uninhabited and in a virgin state.

The main islands are 4 south and as such do not suffer from tropical cyclones. Seasons are split by the SE and NW trades, the former running from around May until late September, early October, when the NW takes over until around February. March and April tend to be doldrum months. The seasons arise from the north/south movement of the ITCZ (Doldrums), which lies in winter north of the islands and in summer across or south of them. South of the ITCZ are found the SE Trades and north of the ITCZ are found the NE Trades which, when they cross the equator, become deflected and blow from the N to NW.

There are a couple of a great beaches, mostly on the seaward facing side of the island. They are for residents only and although they look beautiful there are lovelier ones elsewhere . To be honest the ones on Eden Island look a little artificial - like something on one of those fake islands you see in Dubai. Okay, not quite that bad, but similar.

Security within the Eden Island Village as well as in the commercial areas of the marina is manned 24 hours a day. There is only one road access point to the island via land over Eden Bridge which is monitored by CCTV camera. The VMA village is fitted with a biometric system to access the village. Please ensure that you have been registered on the biometric system to enter the village, with regular patrols and CCTV cameras adding another layer of security to the island. All homes are connected to the VMA and security forces via an intercom phone in case of an emergency.

Here, 135 years later, I stood in the same valley as Gordon on the island of Praslin, aware of what I had come to see but still equally entranced. Within the first few steps of entering the Vallée de Mai, I was enveloped in a world of intense greenery. Palm branches fanned out, weaving together to form a thick canopy that blocked out the sky. Everywhere I turned, a dense forest of enormous trees reached dizzying heights of 30m, their branches engulfing their surroundings with palm fronds 10m long and 4m wide.

Eden's Island, the album's quick starter being short of 2 minutes, starts with an exotic flute, followed by a choir reminiscent of the bird of passage youth movement that Ahbez grew fond of in the 40's. An exquisitely played marimba and an encore of the flute build up the setting of a tropical, carefree island as the genius loci. Say what you will, but it is true: they don't make songs like these anymore. While the choir might be reminiscent of a cult or nature movement nowadays, I tend to believe Ahbez strove for the latter definition. On a side note, be sure to check out Arthur Lyman's version of the song which stays true to Ahbez's original but generates the fun-loving feeling with vibraphones instead.

In between the various tracks, Ahbez is reciting poetic utopian thoughts about nature and society, accompanied by a piano in The Wanderer or flutes and congas in La Mar. These songs might well be a turnoff to quite a lot of listeners, because they might be well produced and relaxing on the one hand, but surely not everyone wants to be taught about Ahbez's views. I also tend to the latter category of listeners, but I also respect Ahbez's approach of telling utopian thoughts about his own island, for this album could indeed have been solely produced for transporting these messages; these lectures fit nonetheless as they are programmatic to the album title.

It was especially hard when we had the Delta variant close to the Indian borders and we couldn't get the 350 workers we need on that side. Right now, we have 80 workers and we are still struggling to bring that the others. It had a devastating effect on tourism activities on Eden island and also affected restaurants and other shopping facilities.

Here you will find the location of Eden island on a map.To see how it currently looks like outside, below are some pictures of the area from online web cameras. You can also find the distance to the main cities in the region and to cities in the rest of America.

The Seychelles has 116 islands spread over 788 square miles of the Indian Ocean, four degrees south of the equator and 950 miles north of Mauritius. Only 30 are inhabited, some are coral islands, some volcanic and many designated as natural reserves, a heady mix of raw beauty and exclusivity.

The joy of the Seychelles is the variety within the archipelago. Highlights include the island of Praslin fifteen minutes away by plane where the rare coco de mer palm grows in the World Heritage Vallée de Mai and the car-free island of La Digue, home to giant tortoises, colonial-style homes and deserted beaches. Felicite is a tiny granite island covering a little over one square mile. It is a near neighbour to La Digue and famed for its mystical, oversized granite boulders. Dense vegetation including mango trees, coconut palms and banana plantations cover much of Felicite where development has been carefully restricted to preserve the outstanding private island privacy.

Eden Island is a reclaimed island just off the coast of Mahé in Seychelles. It is approximately 40 hectares in size with 16 hectares of private waterways connecting every owner to the ocean. Each home is freehold and comes with its own mooring and larger boats including super yachts can be accommodated in the international Eden Island Marina. It is self-contained community with facilities including four private beaches, 2 swimming pools, a clubhouse, shopping centre, supermarket, restaurants, delis, fitness centre, floodlit tennis court, a hotel and car and boat hire available.

The islands of the Seychelles enjoy a year-round warm tropical climate, generally governed by two opposing trade winds. The south-easterly trades blow from May to September bringing drier and windier conditions ideal for sailing. From October to March the gentler north-west trades provide calmer seas but a higher chance of refreshing showers. Scuba divers will find April, May, October and November have the warmest seas and visibility is often 30 metres plus.

Eden Island is a 50ha man-made island located off the coast of Mahe, the capital island of Seychelles. The project includes the development of a marina, commercial centre, offices, hotel and 450 residential units.

Eden Island is an artificial island in Mahe. The Island is famous for the Yacht marina, Eden bleu hotel, multi restaurants, Luxury villas or apartments and Airbnb. Since we keep visiting Eden Island as an ex-pat, I will be shedding some light on things to do and things to know before you come to Seychelles. And also add this to your itinerary of Seychelles. 041b061a72
