A Christmas Cruise (2017)

Story: A Christmas Cruise starts when author Pam Stevenson (Fox) is facing another Christmas alone. However, her best friend Becky (Morris) invites her on a cruise just before the holidays start. The idea is for her to relax but she gets caught up in writing her latest article instead of letting loose.

A Christmas Cruise (2017)

So, what does a cruise line do with a ship named the Christmas Queen outside of the festive yuletide season? Does it sit in dry dock, or do they rename it, or is it just permanently Christmas on board?

THEMES OF THE FILM "A CHRISTMAS CRUISE"Christmas Karaoke Everyone in this movie is obsessed with "Christmas Karaoke," a party game where you sing royalty-free Christmas songs. This first occurs on the titular Christmas cruise and that's fine but Vivica's office is ALSO doing Christmas Karaoke. I'm sorry but if you sing Deck the Halls or Jingle Bells at Christmas Karaoke (like they do in this movie) I am ROASTING your ass from my table at the back at the room. Can you imagine a grown adult singing Jingle Bells to a room full of other adults? Shit is absolutely psychotic.

Avalon Waterways has announced it will be increasing the number of Christmas Markets river cruises on offer for the 2017 winter season, adding five brand-new itineraries to its lineup. For the 2017 winter season, Avalon will offer a total of 16 Christmas Markets river cruises along the waterways of Europe, ranging from five to 15 days in length.

The five new river cruises on offer for 2017 include a five-day Christmastime in Alsace and Germany sailing that operates between Frankfurt and Basel; an eight-day Christmas in the Heart of Germany sailing from Prague to Frankfurt; the spectacular 12-day Christmastime from Prague to Basel; the 12-day Christmastime from Frankfurt to Vienna, and its return counterpart, Christmastime from Vienna to Frankfurt, also 12 days in length.

With these new departures, Avalon is giving river cruisers even more opportunities than ever before to sail down the picturesque rivers of Europe, with the chill of the Holiday spirit in the air. Having been several times, we can say this: once you do one Christmas Markets sailing, it will almost certainly not be the last.

We usually cruise in April and September when school is in session however we're considering a Christmas cruise (12/21 out of Mobile specifically). How busy is it? Is it still enjoyable? A lot of kids?

We always cruise at Christmas because we have now teenagers in school. It is always full of families, but lots of extended families seem to be together during this time of year and kids hanging out together unsupervised. This doesn't deter us because it is the only time we can cruise. I can tell you if I could cruise another time of the winter, I'd do it.

We cruise every year the week before Christmas and although the ship is full like normal we dont believe it is any worse than a non holiday time with kids onboard. The ships are decorated and there is that holiday magic in the air, people getting excited about the cruise and the upcoming holiday's. Plenty of holiday song singing, gingerbread displays, very festive!!! When we get off the cruise ship we have the actual holiday to look forward to once we get home, so for us it extends the excitement of the cruise after we leave the ship.

This will be our fourth year of taking a Christmas cruise and I think its definitely worth it. As a matter of fact, my two kids (now 10 and 13), have told their grandparents for 2 years they would rather go on a cruise and make new friends than stay at home and trek all over to visit family. The past 3 years our ships have been sold out. But lots of families, so it gives the kids many options of finding someone else to play with. It was way better (IMO) than the cruise we took in the summer that wasn't sold out and had fewer kids on it, and therefore less options.

Indeed, what WILL happen when the ship returns to port, and will Viall just stay on the ship forever and try and turn it into a Bachelor-themed cruise? Just take a look at Viall in his outfit, er, costume!

The onboard character greetings will have a wintry twist, with Mickey likely sporting a cozy sweater and Goofy wearing a bright scarf. And, of course, Santa makes an appearance on every Very Merrytime cruise. Sit on his lap (grown-ups are allowed), or have even more fun watching many of the small children on board have their first encounter with St. Nick. Mrs. Claus makes an onboard appearance, as well, with the reading of holiday stories in the lobby atrium.

As with all Disney cruises, a Very Merrytime cruise can be a good option for those wanting to vacation with extended family. There are activities for all ages, with a good blend of things to do together and on your own.

Shore excursions are frequently included in the fare of river cruises, and particularly in winter these activities are a real highlight. Take a walking tour of Bruges, admiring the fairy-tale architecture decked out in lights, and visit a real, traditional German Christmas Market in Frankfurt with its huge festive tree.

A long-time favorite, the 17-day Grand Asia cruise between Singapore and Beijing (Tianjin) visits many desired Asian destinations including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Thailand. A special highlight on the itinerary will be an overnight and two full days in Hong Kong. Each sailing also offers an optional overland excursion to UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angkor Wat, Cambodia. In fall 2016, Diamond Princess will offer the 17-day Grand Asia from Tokyo (Yokohama) visiting many popular Asian ports, such as Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh City and Osaka. In spring 2017, Diamond Princess will sail from Singapore to Yokohama for a 14-day voyage visiting Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan.

Golden Princess will also be in Asia on two special voyages starting or ending in Australia. With cruises ranging from 21 to 25 days sailing between Sydney or Melbourne and Hong Kong or Beijing, these sailings include stops in Darwin, Bali, Singapore and Nha Trang (Vietnam).

Guests also have the opportunity to join the World Cruise for a portion of the journey including a 22-day Hawaii and South Pacific, 18-day Australia and New Zealand, 18-day Southeast Asia and India, 18-day Dubai cruise to Europe, 18-day Mediterranean Passage and a choice of a 17-day Panama Canal sailing between Los Angeles and Ft. Lauderdale.

To further enhance the cruise vacation experience, Princess is offering land and sea vacations in South America for guests aboard Crown Princess and in Asia for voyages starting or ending in Beijing.

New for South America the Andes & Argentina Wine Experience will allow guests the opportunity to cross the Andes from Santiago, Chile to Argentina and visit three wineries in the acclaimed Mendoza wine region. At the tour's conclusion, an exciting evening in Buenos Aires features an authentic tango show and dinner. Additionally, the Iguazu Falls Adventure visits Rio de Janeiro with a full-day sightseeing tour taking guests to Sugar Loaf Mountain and the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. The tour continues into the jungle at the border of Brazil and Argentina to incredible Iguazu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the Machu Picchu Explorer cruisetour, guests will ascend into the Andes to magical Machu Picchu, another UNESCO treasure. Guests will then visit the historic city of Cusco and the Sacred Valley with sightseeing to Sacsayhuaman, Ollantaytambo and an authentic Pisac Market.

Of course, the cruise-in also netted a huge pile of toys for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. Several United States Marine Corps representatives were on-hand to accept the gifts in-person.

For an extra sprinkle of holiday joy, special amenities are available for stateroom delivery. Purchased in advance of sailing, these include holiday-themed gift packages and treat baskets and even mini Christmas trees decorated with ornaments, red berries, mini carnations and a bow topper. Plus, during the holiday cruises, the Disney Cruise Line holiday merchandise collection and ever-popular Disney Cruise Line ornaments will be available in the gift shops.

To celebrate the holidays, the Disney Magic sails four-, five-, seven- and eight-night Bahamian cruises, five- night Eastern Caribbean cruises, and a five-night Western Caribbean cruise departing Nov. 11 to Dec. 24; the Disney Wonder sails seven-night Western Caribbean cruises, and seven-night Bahamian cruises departing from Nov. 10 to Dec. 22; the Disney Dream sails three- and four-night Bahamian cruises departing from Nov. 10 to Dec. 22; and the Disney Fantasy sails seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises departing from Nov. 11 to Dec. 23. 041b061a72
